State of the Boone County Public Library

Join the Rotary Club of Florence, serving all of Boone County (@FlorenceRotary), on Monday, November 4, 2024, at noon to hear Carrie Herrmann, Executive Director of the Boone County Public Library, offering detailed insights into the resources and services offered by Boone County Public Library, including the successful opening of the new and expanded Walton Library.
Carrie Herrmann has over 30 years of experience in libraries, most of those in public libraries in Northern Kentucky. She is a seasoned Library Director with a diverse and accomplished history in the public library industry. Her multifaceted skill set includes expertise in budgeting, management, advocacy, program development, grant writing, electronic resources, circulation, collection maintenance, public speaking, and interlibrary loan coordination. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Masters degree in Library and Information Science.
Carrie has worked for Boone County Public Library for twenty-five years, the last ten as the Library Director. She has served on the Executive Board for the SWON Libraries consortium, served as the editor for the Kentucky Public Library Association’s (KPLA) newsletter, IN-FO-CUS, and on the Continuing Education Committee for the Public Library Association. Currently, Carrie serves as Past-President of the Rotary Club of Florence, KY, President of the Florence Rotary Foundation, and is the President of the Boone County Early Childhood Fund. As an education professional committed to continuous learning and development, she graduated from two prestigious programs: Leadership Northern Kentucky and the Governor’s Commonwealth Institute of Parent Leadership. The Boone County Public Library serves a population of 140,000+ community members.
